Springtime in the Rockies
Finally we are at the beginning of the beginning of Spring 2011. My blog buddy, GDazz over at her place, is showing off what spring looks like in Texas. Click the link and go see..........she's a great photographer/artist.
Here At Altitude, March 20, 2011 is still mostly brown and grey. It's a delayed gratification test.......spring comes slowly and March is often our snowiest month of the year. This winter has been a very mild one. Plenty of snow in the mountains, but here in the plains we are far below the norm. Still a strong possibility of snow to come............even a big one. Let's just hope it's soon and not after the trees have leafed.
Thing HAVE begun to change, if only so slightly. So I took a few sad photos today, just to prove to myself that the first signs of warmer days to come are here.
The honeysuckle bushes...................
The lilac bush............
And best of all, tiny little columbine leaves, pushing their way up..............
Okay, it's a beginning!!!
