Tech Woes Done
For some reason tech woes seem to come in spurts.
Another way of looking at it is to say that I've been spending quality time with computer geeks and Comcast techs.
DVR on the fritz...........problems with recordings not playing back..........tried all the standard stuff.......finally Comcast Dude came and when he couldn't fix, gave us a new DVR. So much for the programs I had recorded.
My Dell 1330XPS crashed...........took it in to Computer Dude who wiped it clean, reloaded the OS and it worked great for about 3 days. Crashed again. Computer Dude gave me a smokin deal on a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Windows 7, loaded all my "stuff" from the 1330. Lesson learned..........don't leave your laptop plugged in all the time unless you have a surge protector............the crashes started shortly after we were having power problems at home................who knew laptops were sensitive to power issues, causing motherboards to go kaput??? Clearly not me.
Tried to hook my new laptop up to our wireless router............could not get it to work.............tried for 3 nights in a row. Realized I would need to reset router to factory settings and start from scratch.
Decided now was a good time to replace old router for new one with faster speed for The Husband's online gaming. Found out to my amazement that Comcast would give me one to use for free because we spend too much money with them every month!! Set that up last night. (CD software wouldn't work, had to set up manually..............)
All good. *she said with great hope in her heart*
