Christmas 2009
Like just about all of 2009, Christmas 2009 was not the norm. Though this year we did get the much longed for (by me) White Christmas.
The Husband is on a day shift this year. So he worked all day Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. He doesn't get home till 7:30 or later, and has to be up early the next day.
So my family completely changed the schedule and we pretended yesterday was Christmas..........
So Christmas Dinner was at my Mom and Dad's yesterday..........turkey, Bronco football (let's not talk about it) and my Mom's famous Grab Bags...............a grown up version of the Christmas Stocking........where she fills a huge gift bag with odds and ends that she has been shopping for and saving LITERALLY all year.
There's never any way to predict what will find it's way into the Grab Bag..............from candles to super glue, anything is possible. Each year there's something that makes us laugh...........this year the winner had to be the NASCAR ballpoint pen that lights up. Heaven knows I'm a huge NASCAR fan........... :o
So Christmas came two days late................on the 25th I spent the day with Miss Bessie and endless holiday movies on TV. A little different this year but still a Merry Christmas.
