Joe Perry Declares!!!!

I must admit this gave me a big charge when I read this at Michelle Malkin's Place. The Boston Herald releases that Joe Perry has been a "lifelong Republican".

Since the early seventies, I have referred to Aerosmith as "my band". Had all the albums.........saw them three times in the seventies, and I seem to remember a fan letter once written to him with my friend Margaret........although I don't think we ever mailed it........
I clearly embarressed my little bro and his future wife the last time I saw them in concert. It was the "Get a Grip" tour in 93 and I went a little nuts, some kind of a 70's flashback thing.............
Strangely enough I've known 2 people in their road crew over the years..........could have met them once, but decided to keep them on the pedestal.........
So for whatever it's worth, glad old Joe is a "Pub". Smart man.

Dancing With the Stars Results - Justice is Served

They let the grand old lady go..........Cloris was eliminated tonight and I must say.............as fun as she was.............it was the right choice. Lot's of goings on...........Julianne has surgery today, and Brooke is nursing a hurt foot.

Tough out there on the ballroom floor this season.................

When Texas Comes to Colorado

We moved into our little house about 3 1/2 years ago. It's a new development and we had no one living around us for the first few weeks. It felt like we were living on a movie set. It looked like a neighborhood, but no one lived in the houses.

One by one we would see people pull into driveways, or a moving truck pull up, and we would go introduce ourselves. The Husband and I both agreed before we moved in, that we would do our best to get to know all our neighbors, and buck the trend of people living in isolation in the suburbs.

Well, we succeeded in making friends with folks on both sides, across the street, and around the bend too. No one had backyard landscaping to start, so everyone sat out on their front stoop or driveway, and got to know one another.
One day, a lady kept making laps around our circle on a cool orange and white scooter. Like this one.

The Husband and I had been talking about scooters, they were just becoming a "thing" around Denver. After the fourth or fifth lap, I shouted out to her..........."what are you doing? .....Showing off?". She pulled over, we introduced ourselves, and a new friendship was born. She lived around the corner and as it turned out, her husband was a former Marine like mine, and they even share a first name. Over time we got to know ScooterGirl, met folks from their street, and had a big 4th of July street party with the whole neighborhood.

It was everything I had hoped for. New house, new friends, a REAL NEIGHBORHOOD.
Except one thing.
Nothing ever stays the same. Just as they one by one moved in..........one by one our literal "circle" of friends began to move away. Not everyone, mind you. But enough to change the "vibe" so to speak...........and it made me sad.
As fate would have it, of all the couples in the neighborhood, we really got along great with ScooterGirl and her "The Husband". We even took a vacation together. We were closer in age, and had similar interests.
But alas, she was from Texas, and a lifetime as a Colorado native has taught me......... that wonderful people move from Texas to Colorado. But somehow...........in the end........they always go back to Texas.
And I miss them all.
So ScooterGirl left Colorado last year too, took her "The Husband" with her, and we're still not over it. She might think we are, but that's just us putting up a good front.
We've kept in touch with calls and emails, but we miss having them around the corner. And no one rides a scooter around the circle these days.
Twice now, her "The Husband" has come and stayed with us, to see his beautiful blond sons, who still live here. He came this past week, and it's great to see him, and have "THE HUSBANDS" talk and hang out. I love the house, full of people, noisy and messy. Good friends, good conversation.
But I'm really looking forward to December, when ScooterGirl will come with her "The Husband" and we will ring in the New Year, with all the neighborhood together, just like old times.
Hurray!!!! More Texans coming to Colorado. And hopefully next year, Colorado will visit Texas.

NO First Snow

Nothing down here at 6200 feet but rain and LOTS of wind. It's coming though, it almost ALWAYS snows before Halloween.

First Snow

Overnight snow for Denver and the Front Range

Really? Is it coming?

They keep saying on the local news that it is coming here...............on the south side.

I love the first snow.

Developing........................

Katie on Eli

Is it just me or is Katie starting to actually look like Tom Cruise?

No offense, but really...........

Dancing with the Stars Results - The Unfair Part

I love Dancing with the Stars. I'm thrilled that it's so popular, that it stays on the air, and draws a wide array of actors, personalities and athletes. But the dance purist in me finds it annoying that it's not just a dance competition, it's also a popularity contest.

I know, I know, the audience participation element (a la American Idol) keeps more people watching and a younger demographic. All the cross promotions STUFF (text messaging) is a part of the revenues, blah, blah, blah.

It still sucks when they send more talented dancers home, instead of people who get votes for popularity or other reasons.

Hence tonight, they sent home Toni Braxton............................AND NOT CLORIS LEACHMAN.

Is there anyone out there who can justify that Toni is less of a dancer than Cloris? Don't get me wrong..............I have been amazed at the fact that octogenarian Cloris can lift her leg above her head............and she is hysterical. Really, really, funny. BUT NOT A BETTER DANCER.

So Toni, VERY UNFAIRLY from my perspective hits the road.......and Cloris lives to see another day.

Tiny Soldier

I was hanging out a few weeks ago at Tracey's place , because she always finds cool things and shares them with us...............

Her post was about a book being published in England by an artist who poses tiny, teeny tiny people around London and photographs them. Check out Tracey's post here.

I added the book to my Amazon wish list.

I must admit to a life long fascination with tiny things..........probably started with Liddle Kiddles and went from there. Oh by the way, I never outgrew it.

A couple of days later..............The Husband and I took a little drive to see some fall foliage. We stopped in a picnic area and walked a ways down a hill to get this shot.

The Husband was up ahead of me when we headed up the hill. He pointed to the ground and said, "they left one man behind". I thought it was another one of those "Marine things" he says. Until I got closer to the spot where he pointed at the ground.

I looked down and saw this.............
Hope he finds his unit.

Dancing With The Stars Results

On tonight's results show the fake political ads were very funny and frankly........a breath of fresh air. Who isn't sick to death of political ads? The Husband covers his face and says "la la la"......So the pretend ads were good for a hearty belly laugh.

Then there was the Flamenco River Dance.........not something you see every day............and what exactly was the point of the shirtless thing??? Didn't do anything for me.

"We pinkie swear this is going to be the best Cha Cha ever." And it was.........Jessica and Mitchell. How do you decide between cute and cuter???

Special music by Nemo?? Or Neo?? Or who was that guy??? Man, I am so not hip........ Can we have some more Barry Manilow? At least I know the words.

So tonight's parting couple is........................ Rocco and Karina. Not really surprised. Rocco had a classy departure.

Fall TV Line Up

So we're back in full swing with the fall TV lineup, and all I can say thank goodness for our DVR. We can record all the shows we like, watch them when we want, and never have to sit through a commercial.
Happy that a few new shows from last season are back......primarily, Pushing Daisies and Life.

Daisies is an acquired taste, it's funny, campy, bordering on the ridiculous. Like a comic book come to life. For me the best part of the show are the sets.........really amazing eye candy.......bright, bold and stunning in High Def.

Both The Husband and I really LOVE the show Life. The lead character, Charlie is played by Damian Lewis, who we first loved in Band of Brothers.

I was stunned to read in his bio that he is British. I realized I've never seen him interviewed and wonder if he has a British accent..............
Sad that Moonlight is NOT back. In spite of all the pleading from fans, CBS did not bring this one back. Strange they still have the page up on their website and people still stop in to complain.

Dancing With The Stars Results

As expected the Brainwashed Husband and I are enjoying watching Dancing With The Stars.

Brainwashed (for new readers) because I have made him watch and magically made him like it. No mystery that I enjoy it, because I'm genetically linked to dancing.....see this link here.

So tonight is results show...................and WHAT A RELIEF AFTER THE MIND NUMBING PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES..........................................

Kool and the Gang...................having 70's flashbacks...............

Really sad on so many levels that Misty May got hurt and is out...........

Terrible injury..........................AND..................no more Max.................how shallow of me.

Still loving Warren Sapp. So very cute and fun to watch.

Would love to see Rocco do better................poor guy.......what a terrible costume this week.

Don't really like Jennifer Hudson's voice...........can I say that?

So the final results are...........

NO ONE GOING HOME. Because of Misty being hurt. But they revealed who had the fewest combined score and WOULD HAVE gone home.......

Rocco............saw it coming.

MIND NUMBING

The debate was mind numbing.

If Obama wins, we're moving to Alaska and hanging out with Sarah. (Just kidding Mom and Dad)

I have nothing else to say about the debate............

Except...........

I voted for Mitt.

Hunting For Aspen

Beautiful Sunday morning.........in early October. Must find Aspen trees. Quick trip west, then south.

And ..........voila..........

A little red as well.
Mission accomplished.

"Can I Call You Joe?"

Sure Sarah, call him Joe.

Maybe he'll call you sweetie.

Wasn't giving the debate my full attention tonight...............helping out a neighbor and watching their 2 year old little guy for about an hour in the middle of it.

She seemed to hold her own................and that was a sigh of relief.....

JoeB didn't trip over his own tongue.....................rats!

Seems like the talking heads think she did okay too.
My father, who was paying close attention felt encouraged.

I no longer know what to think. I have campaign fatigue............We're in a "battleground" state and the political ads are NON STOP. Can we fast forward...........to the end? I know how I'm going to vote for. Do you know? Okay, lets do it!

What is the deal with undecided voters? You think these candidates are a toss up? What planet are you living on????

In our little cul de sac, and circle of friends.............we're the only Republicans.........in a county that's strongly Republican. So I think I have to get the yard sign. Dad wants one too........
How many more days to go????
Sigh......................

Sirius 18 and Convertibles

I've done the unthinkable.

I hooked up satellite radio.

With a radio career in my background, I scoffed at anything other than LOCAL radio...........

Who needs satellite? It's soooooooooooooo............ NOT LOCAL.

The Husband got a free year of Sirius in his new Jeep.............I kinda liked it..........a few interesting stations here and there.

Then they pulled the plug on my favorite local station.

So now we had to decide whether or not to renew the subscription.............and for only $7 bucks more..........my car can have it too..........

So you know what goes together really well??

This car......... (top down)

A beautiful fall day.

And Sirius Channel 18. The Spectrum.
